Seneca Creek Wine Region -Minutes away from Washington, DC, the Seneca Creek Region is a retreat from the fast-paced city life. Seneca Creek Region is nestled in the Piedmont plateau of Maryland located in Upper Montgomery County. This region has unique microclimates that produce premium fruit and high-quality wines. The Seneca Creek Region vineyards and wineries offer local varietals like Chambourcin, Petit Manseng, and Vidal Blanc. Traditional French grapes like Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot are in the tasting rooms. Wine styles range from Bordeaux-style red blends to unfiltered white wines. Windridge Vineyard, Rocklands Farm Winery, Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, and the Urban Winery are some of the places Vino 301 visits.

Vino 301 wine tours allow you to have a fun and memorable afternoon sampling the best wines Maryland has to offer. Your afternoon begins with Vino 301 knowledgeable Tour Ambassador picking you up from a specific location and taking you on a journey to Maryland’s wineries. Our Tour Ambassadors share information about Maryland’s rich wine history. Most of our wine tours are between 5 – 6 hours. Tours are perfect for experienced wine lovers, first-time visitors to Maryland, special occasions, or a fun day out!

All our tours include lunch. Lunches are served at one of the vineyard stops. All lunches include an entree, pasta salad, fruit salad, chips, and dessert. The lunches are individually served. We can accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies. The entrees are:

Let our experienced Tour Ambassadors be your designated driver along Frederick, Maryland’s beverage region. Travel in comfort as you literally drink in local wine, beer, spirits, and learn about the history and culture of Maryland’s beverage industry.
You can select any combination of wine, beer, and spirits at the two vineyards. Your tour begins when Vino 301 picks you up at one of our designated locations. Your tasting adventure starts at Linganore Winecellars and Red Shedman Farm Brewery & Hop Yard. Linganore Wincellars is one of Maryland’s largest vineyards and home to Maryland’s newest brewery. Vino 301 completes the tour at Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery. Springfield Manor offers fine wines, gin, rum and vodka.

Your adventure begins with a cheese and wine pairing. Robin Hill Farm and Vineyards finest wines paired with award-winning local raw milk artisan cheeses. Robin Hill Farm and Vineyards produces handcrafted award-winning wines from their estate grown grapes and grapes from custom growers. Your next destination will take you to one of southern Prince George’s County local vineyards (Romano Winery and Vineyard, JaneMark Winery & Vineyard, or Gemeny Winery & Vineyard).

WESTMINSTER WINE TOUR
Westminster Wine tour tours vineyards located in Western Maryland. Civil war heritage and Maryland’s farming culture are celebrated in Western Maryland. Preserving this rich history blends well with modern day culture. This mix of old and new can be found in vineyards in this region. Winemakers use new and aged old wine making traditions. You will find that some wines are grown in the Bordeaux style. If you like Seyval Blanc, Cabernet, or Vidal Blanc then you love the wineries on the Westminster wine tour! Some of the vineyards we visit are Old Westminster Winery, Serpent Ridge Vineyard, Black Ankle Vineyard, and Linganore Winecellars, Hidden Hills Vineyard, New Market Plains Winery, Rockland Farms, Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, Big Cork Vineyard, Urban Winery, Springfield Manor, Catoctin Breeze Vineyard and Lowe Vineyard.

Romano Vineyard and Winery produces handcrafted award-winning wines from their estate grown grapes and grapes from custom growers. PA Bowen make award-winning raw milk artisan cheeses, and we are a pasture-based sustainable farm. Your next destination will take you to one of southern Prince George’s County local vineyards (Robin Hill Farm & Vineyards, JaneMark Winery &Vineyard, or Gemeny Winery & Vineyard).
PATAPSCO VALLEY WINE TOUR
Just minutes from downtown Baltimore City, the wineries are located in Maryland’s Baltimore and Harford counties. Its vibrant landscape and rolling hills produces nationally recognized wines. Many of the winemakers use traditional cellar methods. Rich ruby reds, like Chambourcin, and Cabernet Franc are favorites of this region. Compare oak barrel and non-oak Pinot Grigio. Patapsco fruit wines are a refreshing treat during the summer. In addition to wineries, Vino 301 visits cider mills. Maryland’s cider is as unique as its wines. Boordy Vineyards, Basigani Vineyards, Dejon Vineyard, Fiore Vineyard & Winery, Harford Vineyard, Millstone Cellars and Woodhall Cellars are among the places you can enjoy your tasting.
HERITAGE WINE TOUR
The Heritage region is the birth place of the Maryland. Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties are home to Maryland’s colonial history. Old world influences are used by this region’s winemakers. Wines from this region are nationally recognized and award winning. The wines’ bouquet and brilliance are distinctive due to the cool breezes from the Patuxent and Chesapeake rivers and the unique sandy terroir. Heritage region’s crispy white wines, like Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc, are favorites. Also, try the Heritage region’s award winning full bodied reds, Malbec and Shiraz varietals. Great Frogs, Thanksgiving Farms, Fridays Creek, Perigeaux Vineyard and Winery and Running Hare Vineyard are some of the wineries you may visit.
CHOCOLATE & WINE TOUR
The tour begins at Parfections store in Cockeysville, MD. Parfections confection experts lead you through a tasting of handmade gourmet truffles and Maryland wine pairing. Delight in tasting truffle flavors like pomegranate & lime, espresso, almond/creme de cacao and so many more. You learn how to pair dry and sweet wines with a variety of truffles. You are later transported to one of the Patapsco Valley Wine Region’s vineyards to enjoy a Maryland wine tasting and tour.

Visiting the Chesapeake Wine Region is not just a trip, but an experience. The regions is beautifully rich with seafood, history, cultural activities, scenic views, and wine. Chesapeake Wine Regions is home to Maryland’s beaches and waterways along the Eastern Shore. It’s warm days and cool nights makes it perfect for growing lush and flavorful grapes. The Chesapeake Wine Regions spans from Anne Arundel to Wicomico Counties. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sryah are among the red wines you will enjoy. Vidal Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay are among the favorites you will experience. Great Frogs, Cascia Vineyard, Triple Creek, Casinelli Vineyard, Clovelly Vineyard, Chateau Bu De Vineyard, and Crow Vineyard are some of the wineries you may visit.
Lunch While You Tour
Let us provide your lunch or small plates during your tour. We offer a picnic lunch or cheese and charcuterie plates to purchase as add-ons to your Regional Tour. Cheese and charcuterie plates serves 4-6 people. Most wineries do not offer lunch or dinner to purchase. Many of the wineries have areas to enjoy a picnic lunch or light snack. Vino 301 encourages you to plan to have lunch or heavy snack regardless if you purchase it from us or bring your own. It is a long day of merriment without food.
Custom Tours
